What is the best way to predict KEAM Engg 2012 Score and Ranks?

KEAM Engg results will be published in two weeks time. KEAM CEE has now asked to enter your Class 12 marks into the CEE system. Candidates need to complete this process by June 8th. Many of Keam Express readers are confused on how to calculate the Class 12 marks.


Well officially the Class 12 marks will be normalized (out of 300) and added to the Entrance Score (out of 300). The total marks for Engg ranks will be from 600.

What is normalization?

This is statistical way to arrive at your marks by comparing all the school boards in the country. Some of the candidates may get a couple of marks extra or less depending on their boards. If you score 100% in PCM then you will get full 300 marks in the normalized score. The formula to calculate normalized score is given in the KEAM 2012 prospectus. It is not easy to arrive at your marks based on this formula unless you have the scores averages from all the boards. So you should stop worrying about how KEAM will normalize your score. The normalized scores of all candidates will be published by KEAM in due course.

How to calculate the score and ranks roughly for Engg 2012? (Predict your score & rank)

Only Parinama has come up with a rough calculator and a efficient rank predictor. The most important thing to note is that these tools are only provide estimated rank. Your original ranks and marks may vary. Another important point to note is that Parinama Rank Predictor works on 2011 data. According to various sources the KEAM 2012 was easier than 2011. And more over 20,000 more people have qualified for Engg courses this year. This means there will be little more competition for the coveted top ranks.

What is the best way to predict KEAM Engg 2012 Score and Ranks?

Here are steps to get KEAM Engg 2012 Score, Ranks and best possible colleges. For discussion purposes we will assume a hypothetical candidate. Tintumon has scored 245/300 in board exams and has scored 690/960 in Engg Entrance Exams. He has no reservation so all he should get a seat under State Merit (SM)

• Step 1: Estimate/Predict your marks: Tintumon logs into Parinama Engg Mark Calculator and enters his details. The tool predicted rough estimate of 460. The range of marks was 437 to 483

For 437 marks he may get a rank of 1000 and for 483 marks he may get a rank of 300. So the rank range for Tintumon is between 300 to 1000. This rank can vary based on the normalization marks.
• Step 3:  Get the list of possible colleges/courses for your ranks: He entered his ranks in Parinama Get Your College List to see what best course he can get. He can get data based on 2009, 2010 or 2011. He should try all three options before finalizing his college/course.
